I am really impressed with this CD because I have known you since you were a young kid. I am like, “This is that muthafuckin Scott Bejda and look what he is doing now?” You are putting together something that nobody has done in history with all these global artists and it is phenomenal! I am proud of you.
Thank you, Black Dog! It has been a long time. I have known you since the beginning of Murder Dog.
For real, it has been almost since the beginning of Murder Dog. What can we expect from this compilation?
This was a dream of mine for years to put out a compilation, but I never thought it would be such a worldwide global thing. Really I got to give props to my boy B-Dub in Germany because while I was grinding really hard to get tracks, he was doing the same thing.
B-Dub was getting tracks too?
Yeah, he was helping me greatly. He said, “Bro, I want to do my part to help you realize your dream!” And he got tracks from Japan, Morocco, and all over the place. We both got so much stuff. Right before the Tsunami hit in Japan he got a verse form this dope ass Japanese rapper named Kaigen. Literally a week or two later the Tsunami hit Japan.
That’s crazy.
My homie M.H.D. from Egypt jumped on board right at the exact time Egypt was having the uprising. This project really related to current events in the world.
What is the compilation called?
It is called “Underground Society Vol.1: Fuck Tha! Illuminati” and it is rap’s biggest global compilation. We have over 50 tracks from the USA, Canada, Brazil, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Germany, Egypt, Zimbabwe, Morocco, Argentina, Italy, Russia, Sweden, and several other spots globally.
You really must have worked hard!
Yeah and a lot of people think you are full of shit when you start something like this. I don’t blame them because this is my third attempt to put out a compilation. The first one was going to come out back in 2000 on Dog Dog and it was called “Hustlin’ in America” and at the time it was going to have the most states on one project, but things didn’t work out and it never happened. Then around 2004 I was going to put out “Mid-West Militia” and could not find the funding or an outlet. This time around my boy DMB and Burger Records stepped up and helped me along with Themolishun. A lot of people thought that this wouldn’t happen but we started to meet people from everywhere that rep this shit to the fullest. Underground Society means a lot to many people around the world. So many are involved. The homie X-Raided sent us a beautiful message for the comp. That’s my brother, I got nothing but respect for him. Free X-Raided! We got more than 50 tracks on here.
Will this be download only?
We are gonna press up a sampler which is packed to capacity that we will give away for free, but the album itself will be a download only on iTunes, Amazon, and CDbaby. We are gonna have it where you can download tracks if you want, but we are gonna make it so you will want to get it all at once because we will let you download over 50 tracks for one low price of about $8.00. It’s a no brainer! Buy 3 tracks for $3.00 or spend and extra $5 and get over 50 tracks for $8. Can you imagine back in the day going into Coconuts or Musicland and get 4 or 5 CDs worth of music for only eight bucks? It’s not even about the money with this project because 10% of the proceeds are going straight to feed the hungry around the globe.
Who is distributing it?
It is coming out strictly on Burger Records and Themolishun Enterpryze. This will be our 3rd project together. We put out the USG album “Dopegame/Rapgame” in 2010 which was the first ever Chi-Town/German collaboration group album between two artists “DMB” and “C.O. Tha! Bad Black”, then along with RBC Records we put out C.O’s album on 6-7-11 “Themi-God.” DMB is a good brother and is a huge fan of rap music. Wait until you hear his album.
He’s an amazing artist. What’s DMB’s album called?
His album is called “BK: Da G-Funk Album”. What is real unique about it is you will hear a lot of rappers that you haven’t heard in years like Ant Banks, Tommy Wright III, Big Mike, and so many others like Tha Realest, Kokane, Renizance of Immortal Soldierz and many others.
Who is on C.O’s album?
C.O. has a ton of people. He thought outside the box. In addition to Chicago artists like Ak of Do Or Die and Coldhard he got Kingpin Skinny Pimp on the song form Chi-Town 2 Memphis Tenn, X-Raided and DMB on “Can U Buy That?”, also he has Yukmouth, Kokane, and of course Hen-A-Cee, Soundmaster-T, Jah-Rista, Malachi, D-Train and a bunch of other people.
Are you working with RBC too?
The RBC deal is for C.O’s project “Themi-God”. I sent them C.O’s music and they liked it and offered us a digital deal. Brian Shafton is a real good dude. The “Themi-God” album is phenomenal. It is a Chicago iconic record, meaning that it is one of the best albums to come out of the Chi in years. What is cool is C.O. got so many people from other places. It’s a classic like his album “When I Hit the Bricks”. People in this industry need to recognize my brother because he is a beast. He has been doing this for years and could slaughter these fools out nowadays.
Are you gonna push this compilation on the internet heavily too?
Oh yeah definitely! The homie Emoe is making us a nice commercial for the compilation. The good thing about this project is that a lot of the people on the project are pushing it for us.
What I like about this compilation is you are bringing all these people together from around the world which is something that we need right now.
There is too much separation and this project shows that not all of us hate each other. It is amazing because I have a friend on Facebook from Iran who is on the compilation named MC Masato and he listed me on Facebook as his uncle. So now I got an Iranian nephew. I love that shit! It’s fuckin’ amazing to me. I never thought in a million years I would be doing anything like this. I am so happy with this project and I believe this is what I was meant to do. People know me from my work with Murder Dog and to do this project all these years later is amazing. Hopefully I won’t but if I were to die I can look back at what I did in my career with the writing, managing my brother C.O., meeting all these people over the years, I can honestly say I am very happy.
As a writer for Murder Dog you interviewed some of the biggest rappers that shaped the music of the world. You interviewed people like E-40, Spice-1, 50 Cent, you interviewed the biggest. This music is shaping the world right now and you are a part of it!
It is so surreal to talk to some of these people. I still remember when the Game came out with the DVD “Stop Snitchin’ Stop Lyin” and he was going through his house showing the camera different things and he showed the Murder Dog cover we did with him and he said, “This is my favorite cover!”
And you did that interview.
It was amazing to see that. It all comes back to this project because this is not just a compilation this is a movement. We even have a podcast show.
What’s the deal with the Podcast?
Me and my long time homie and co-host Siccx have a news talk Podcast called the “F.T.I. Underground Podcast” F.T.I. stands for “Fuck Tha Illuminati.” It is doing really well. We have links on film maker’s sites and everything.
Where is Siccx from?
He is from the Bay. He is the imagery behind the whole movement. He did the logos, the album cover, everything! His brother is the legendary “Dream TDK” who is one of the best artists known around the world. Rest in peace to Dream!
What is the Podcast about?
It is about conspiracies within rap and the world. Our format is unlike anything else out because we usually have two guests, one being a rapper and one being a documentary film maker, activist, or experts on the illuminati. We do play a little music but this is mainly educational.
Where are you putting it together?
Me and Siccx record it over the phone and we put it together like a regular radio show and we got a our homie Jerry who masters it for us and it sounds real good. You can either download it and save it or listen to it on stream.
Do you interview rappers or political people?
We do both! It is really the only format of its kind because half the show we will have a rapper and the other half we will have someone who knows about the illuminati or something like that. It is usually an hour long program. Our first show we had the Chicago icon JD Walker who is a fantastic speaker. People know him as being one of Chicago’s pioneers in rap but he is also a phenomenal speaker. One of the things he said on that show that resonates with me is, “We need to get the politicians to live in the hood for a month so they can see this shit firsthand!”
I feel like what you are doing with this and the compilation is all tied into one. Who is on the compilation?
Myself and the homie B-Dub collected tracks from the likes of Spice-1, Mastamind, Darkroom Familia, Al Kapone, Yung Eazy, Smoothvega-n-Lil Flip, Dirtay feat: Royce Da 5’9, Big Mike, South Central Cartel, Emoe, Psycomatic, the homie Political Assasin, Black Ice (Black Silver & Ice-T), Cuicide from Compton, Black C from RBL Posse, MZ. Bombay who is the First Lady of the Underground Society and the only female, and too many others to name. We even got a couple rock songs too. The contrast of this compilation is amazing. When people down load this album they will get over 50 tracks from around the globe, I’m talking the Middle East, Europe, Africa, Asia, North and South America, and many of these artists are rapping in their native tongue too. This is the whole world of rap! Now its bigger than just the US! This project will be out in October but our “Fuck Tha Illuminati” collector’s edition sampler is available for free download at: www.ugsocietymovement.com
After this project what will you work on?
Hopefully we will be able to do another one in a year or two. We want to see the response and if it is good we will do a volume two.
Tell me about the imagery?
Again that is my homie Siccx who I have known for a long time. He use to do all my graphics for my old music show on the net “The Murder Master Music Show.” He brought a visual to this project that no one else could bring. I gave him a few ideas and he went above and beyond and brought the shit to life. It is powerful and shocking. The concept of the cover is that there is a soldier who is coming to get you and put you in a Fema Camp or just fuckin kill you, and in his stomach is this 3-headed monster that is the evil force driving him to do this against you. He is there to invade on your rights, lock you up, and kill you, but we being the Underground Society and we say “Fuck Tha! Illuminati” and are the voice of the resistance.
It is for the people?
Yes it is anti-big business, anti-big cooperation. If you look right now there are so many people in Somalia that are dying because they have no food. I think every country on the planet and big business should stop these people from dying but the majority of them don’t give a fuck. It is sickening! This project has a lot of meaning behind it and it is not just about gathering people from around the world it is also about saying that “We are sick of this shit!” We hate seeing our brothers and sisters from around the world die for no reason while a certain select few get to prosper. When I say a certain select few I am talking about 5%. In the US alone 5% of the population own more money and land than the rest of the 95% combined. That does not make sense, it is fucked! There is a lot of greed that comes into play and there are secret societies that people don’t know about. There is one by you called “Bohemian Grove” and once a year they gather up there and make decisions to deal with the population. Who knows what the fuck they are talking about! Things are not getting better and we need to expose the people behind the scenes that are fuckin’ shit up for us.
Where can people find out more info?
The central nervous system for everything is www.ugsocietymovement.com. My homie Kamil aka “the Bad Azz Website Designer” designed and built this site out of love for the music and the movement. Of course check out the homie C.O. on Facebook and Twitter/cothabadblack and can’t forget www.burger-records.com
