About Excruciating | Excruciating Pain was formed in 1988 ...The band was Ronnie Byrd, Todd Lappin, Chris Knight ,and Sean Harman .. The band released two demos- Blasted Lands and Cyborcore...It was Nashville's introduction to death metal. After a year and a half Chris and Todd were not happy with the direction of the band so they left the band. Ronnie and Sean carried on and they picked up Scott Murray on bass. From there on, Ronnie played Gutar and Sang. They then put a 4 song demo which got them in the door of a mexican label that payed to record the Thou Shall Choose album...With that, they had a product to show to the American labels and were picked up by JL America The cd has been sold world wide for 15 year.. The last we checked, the cd sold for $89 on amazon as a collecters item The band toured and stayed together til 93 and then had some more member changes. Ronnie kept the band going and in 94 picked up Don Corn on drums, Lora Oliveri on Guitar And Jason Warnack on bass. They released a demo in 94 that was the best stuff yet. More technical and heavier than they ever done..It was sold by Relapse...This band brought a new sound of Death metal to Nashville and EP played all over the country...I know i left some things out but this band played for over10 years. Ronnie kept Excruciating Pain going for a long time. Ronnie has now come down with terminal cancer and his last wish is to play with the friends that made his time with the band so memorable ...He would like to see all his friends and fans at the show for this will be the last show he will ever be able to do...Come to the show and spend time and hang out with us and enjoy some heavy music... See the ones who brought us death metal to nashville.. |
