Money Militia-A Paidstyle Rapper

Photobucket
I got a chance to sit down with Money Militia of Dallas/Fort Worth, and get an up close look at the man, the mind, and the money behind the Militia music. Always the businessman, Money has owned and operated several successful companies. At 19, he opened a nightclub in West Texas, and three T-Mobile franchises in the Dallas Fort Worth and Abilene area soon followed, all before becoming one of the best-known diamond brokers in the area. It would be his success in the diamond industry that would allow Money to pursue his passions in music. Tune in for your first look at Money Militia.
How did your background affect the rapper you are today?
My background everything is everything I am, its real, it’s who I am. It’s the reason all feelings and emotions come through my music.
How did you get your start in rap?
As a hustler, I was always the one with the most charisma in the crew. My grind combined with my statue and connection to music helped it make sense for me to be the one to pursue music.
What kind of rapper do you consider yourself?
Well, I’m a writer, so always something lyrical. I would say I’m a freestyle rapper, but ain’t nothing free so I’m a ‘paid style’ rapper. I am a perfectionist though when it comes to music, very professional. I make music for the street scene and for the party scene.
In this new age of rap, where does Money fit in?
I meannnnn. Lol. I’m a street rapper, I’ll let them dance and boogie. It’s cool, they cool. I just hate that a lot of music doesn’t have an extended life span and ends up dead. “Right now” music is sometimes unsuccessful in the long run.
Very good point. What are some artists that have helped influence the longevity you seek as an artist?
Uncle Pimp C, T.I., Jay-Z, Drake…I sing sometimes to add elements and dimensions to my music. Six 2, (featured on Chronic 2001) has also been a major force in my music making. He’s actually on my single ‘”You Girl”.
So what would be a dream collabo?
Tupac!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lol. That’s my dream too. What do you want to people to know about Money?
I want people to know I’m here, all real, no bullshit. I love the ladies, all colors, and I really am about my paper. My music is quality lyricism, but you can still have a good time to it. Give me glory or give me death… I’m Money.
Beyond his musical ambitions, the multi-talented young man is now working on a documentary about his life titled “UnderDog”. Peep his site at www.myPPK.com/get/moneymilitia and download Money Militia’s hit featuring OG Six2 “You Girl” at http://www.myppk.com/Users/7016/72e974d3-f7aa.mp3
